Power outage affects Fountain, Security-Widefield areas

Fountain Utilities says over 3,000 homes and business were without power in the Fountain and Widefield-Security areas Saturday morning.

The power has been restored for all but 160 customers as off 11 a.m. Saturday.

15 crews are working to get the power completely restored and hope to have it fixed within an hour, a spokesman from Fountain Utilities said.

Fountain Utilities said the outage stretches from Powers Blvd. on the east side to Fountain on the north side and Fountain Mesa Ridge Road on the west.

According to utilities crews, this is do to an underground equipment failure.
