Police memos explain Pacheco incident

Our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain found out more about the careless driving charge against former City Manager Jerry Pacheco.

The Chieftain obtained internal police memorandums that quote the city’s human resource director as saying Pacheco had been drinking for two days during which time he was cited for careless driving.

In one of the memos by an officer who interviewed Marisa Walker, the city’s HR director and Pacheco’s girlfriend Marisa Walker, stated: “Jerry had been drinking for the past two days, and she was concerned for his welfare.”

And in another memo, an officer reported that Walker was concerned for Pacheco and his “excessive alcohol use.”
