More Evacuations Ordered For Northern Colo. Wildfire
More people are being evacuated from near a wildfire burning in northern Colorado.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office issued 25 evacuation notices on Tuesday to people living on the west side of the fire. It’s not known how many homes are affected.
The new orders come as evacuees from elsewhere in the fire area are being allowed to return home.
The fire burning 15 miles west of Fort Collins is 5 percent contained and firefighters are hoping to double that progress by the evening. Crews have been able to anchor the southwest corner of the fire but say the northwest portion is still active.
The fire has damaged more than 100 structures and prompted hundreds of evacuations since it was reported on Saturday.
