Tornadoes Touch Down In Elbert / El Paso Counties

For the second night in a row, hail, lightning and strong winds pummeled areas of El Paso County.

This time, the storm came from the north, tearing through Elbert county before arriving in the NewsChannel 13 viewing area.

There is heavy damage along CR 105 in Elbert County.

Reports are that one home had it’s roof blown off where CR 105 crosses CR 82.

There are also reports that a debris field alongside CR 105 stretches from CR 82 to CR 96.

Throughout the evening, viewers called to report multiple funnel cloud and tornado sightings from Ramah to Calhan.

We had multiple reports of golf-ball sized hail throughout eastern El Paso County. One NewsChannel 13 employee who was headed to Calhan had a large hails stone shatter his windshield.

There are also reports of fences and trees blown down along Highway 24 in the Ramah area.
