Semi Overturned At Academy Loop And Fountain

A rollover accident blocked traffic for over four hours Tuesday near Academy Park Loop and E Fountain Blvd.

The accident involved a Bestway Recycling semi truck and a car. The semi overturned and spilled much of its load onto the street.

Heavy Rescue crews were called in to help get one person out of the car who was pinned. There was also a second person in the car. Both were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Hazmat crews also arrived on scene in case there were any problems with fuel leaking from the semi.

E Fountain Blvd was closed between Academy Park Loop and Chelton Road. The road reopened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
