Guilty Plea Expected In Stolen Silencers Case

Court documents indicate a Colorado Army National Guard member accused of selling stolen Army-issued assault rifle silencers has reached a plea agreement.

Matthew Colin Laflin is accused of selling the silencers last year to someone who ended up being an informant working with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

He was set to go to trial this month, but court records indicate Laflin now is scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing June 13 in federal court in Denver.

Laflin’s co-defendant Eric Shunglik Lee was accused of stealing the silencers while he was with the Guard and giving them to Laflin. Lee pleaded guilty in April to possessing an unregistered firearm.
