Update: Standoff In Colorado Springs Ends
A standoff ended in Southeast Colorado Springs shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday.
The man was holed up Tuesday night in a home in the 4800 block of Rusty Nail Point.
Police say 33 people evacuated and dozens more kept from their homes after police blocked the streets were allowed back home around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said they’ve been trying to find Ronald Duwane Brown since Sunday, and got information he was in his house Tuesday evening.
On Sunday, there was a problem between Brown and neighbor’s son. Witnesses said parents of the boy went to Brown’s house with a baseball bat and confronted him. They said an argument ensued and Brown shot at the ground with a gun he had wrapped in a shirt.
Witness said they thought there had been a prior disagreements before that between that family and Brown.
Brown was taken into custody following a lengthy standoff with the Tactical Enforcement Unit. He was uncooperative with police and refused to leave the home.
