Woman Gets Maximum Sentence for Abusing Niece
A Colorado Spring woman was sentenced to the maximum allowed of 40 years for abusing the 21-month old daughter of her niece.
Horsley had been found guilty of repeatedly taping the girl’s hands and feet and putting her in a cold shower as punishment.
Horsley was arrested at the home she shares with her niece on North Farragut Avenue in April of 2011 after the child was taken from the bathtub and was unresponsive.
The girl survived but suffered serious injuries.
The girl’s mother, Alexis Salaz accepted a plea deal. She was sentenced to 24 years in prison for her involvement.
