Pueblo Man Threatens Police Officer
A man who was arrested after a string of robberies threatens to shoot a Pueblo Police officer.
The officer he threatened is the same officer who killed a member of his gang last year.
Police arrested Chaz Todd, 21, and Lucas Todd, 22 on Sunday evening. Police believe they are responsible for a robbery that happened at JR?s Country Store on Abriendo and a robbery that happened 300 block of Northern Avenue.
The men were arrested after police spotted their car on Prairie. According to the police report, the officer knew the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in multiple robberies.
After the arrest Lucas made some threatening remarks to the arresting officer. According to the police report; he said, ?You?re the one who shot Guillermo. I?m going to shoot you.?
Police told KRDO NewsChannel 13, Todd said that because the arresting officer was involved in killing a member of Todd?s gang. The incident happened last year when Guillermo Noriega held a knife to his girlfriend?s throat. Police said Guillermo refused to cooperate with police, forcing them to shoot and kill him. Police said shooting a person is always a last resort. Officers said Guillermo refused to put the knife down and the woman?s life was in danger.
Both Todds face two counts of robbery. Lucas Todd faces several charges, including attempting to influence a public servant.
Police believe Todd had been drinking the night he was arrested.
