Man Stabbed With Glass Bottle

Colorado Springs police say a man was stabbed early Friday morning by another man with a broken glass bottle.

It happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. on South El Paso Avenue.

The victim told police he and his girlfriend were sitting in her car talking when he noticed someone looking into his car with a lighter.

That’s when the victim approached the man looking into his car.

The man, later identified as 23 year old Francisco Mireles-Velasquel, hit the victim over the head with a beer bottle and stabbed him in the lower arm with the broken glass, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested Mireles-Velasquel and charged him with first degree assault.
