Long Commute May Be Bad For You

Do you have a long commute to and from work?

It could be bad for your health.

That’s according to a new study by Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis.

Researchers found people who commuted 10 miles or more each way were more likely to have higher blood pressure.

Those who traveled 15 miles or more are likely to have bigger waistlines or be obese.

The study monitored the health of more than four thousand adults from a dozen counties in Texas.

It’s important to note that diet, exercise and sleep habits were not looked at in the study.

Those can also contribute to obesity and high blood pressure.

The study appears in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
