911 Lines Fixed In El Paso And Teller Counties

There was an intermittent technical issue with 911 lines in El Paso and Teller Counties Thursday morning, but it has been fixed.

The issue lasted about two hours and was fixed around noon. The 911 system is now functioning correctly.

Representatives with the El Paso Teller 911 Authority said a hardware issue caused the problem. The Authority will be in contact with manufacturers to ensure the issue doesn’t happen again.

Bob Bills, a representative for the 911 Authority, said it is important for people to keep non-emergency numbers handy, just in case an outage ever happens during an emergency.

The numer for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is 390-5555 and the number for the Colorado Springs Police Department is 444-7000.
