Police Look For Parolee After Standoff
A standoff in downtown Colorado Springs ended with an arrest; but it wasn’t the person police were looking for.
CSPD tells us that an anonymous tipster called the Probation Department twice about 22-year-old Danika Torres. The tipster said she had a gun, was suicidal and was going to kill herself or anyone who tried to get her out of the house. A second call said there were three men inside the home with her in the home, too.
SWAT units entered the home but did not find the Torres. 39-year-old John Bratrsovsky was taken into custody by Probation Department officers. That parolee told police Danika Torres was in the home with him but left before police arrived.
Columbia Elementary School and Palmer High School were placed on a precautionary lockdown during the incident. Their lockdowns have since been lifted.
