Milan Hejduk Re-signs with Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed captain Milan Hejduk (mee’-LAWN HAY’-dook) to a one-year contract. Next season will mark the 36-year-old forward’s 14th in the NHL, all of which have been spent with the Avalanche. He will enter the season nine games shy of becoming the first player in Avalanche history to appear in 1,000 games with the team. Hejduk has tallied 371 goals and 423 assists in 991 career games and ranks fourth in franchise history in goals and points. He ranks fifth in assists. The three-time Olympian won a gold medal with the Czech Republic at the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, and a bronze medal at the 2006 Olympics in Torino, Italy.
