Baby Suffers Brain Injuries, Parents Investigated

A Pueblo County baby is at a Denver area hospital for serious brain injuries and his parents may be responsible.

The boy is 2 months old, and doctors say the child also had older healing injuries that included a broken leg and severe bruising all over his body. Doctors and investigators agree that this is no accident.

“The child’s injuries, according to the doctors, are not accidental. We are certainly looking at the people who were taking care of the child, which would be his parents, ” said Chief Charlene Graham with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.

This investigation started May 7th. The boy was treated and Park View Medical Center and had to undergo surgery so that he could be transferred to Denver.

Investigators are working on arrest affidavits for the boy’s parents Kurt Keetch, 19, and Chelsia Keetch, 20.

The Sheriff’s Office is also looking into when all the abuse happened because the baby was deemed healthy by a doctor after a late April appointment.
