Colo. Springs Postal Service Center Staying Open
The U.S. Postal Service announces that several Colorado mail processing centers will remain open following phase one of the postal service consolidation.
Representatives with the U.S. Postal Service say that 140 centers are still closing as a part of phase one consolidation. However the Colorado Springs, Alamosa, Durango, and Salida processing center will all remain open for at least the next two years.
In 2014 phase two of the Postal Service’s consolidation will begin, and the Colorado centers will be reviewed once more.
U.S Senator Mark Udall says he is happy that the Colorado centers announced will stay open, but that the Postal Service must continue working toward becoming self sustainable.
