Pueblo Standoff Over

A standoff in Pueblo has ended peacefully.

The standoff started around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 1800 block of west 11th Street, near 11th and Cheyenne.

Police tell us it all started when a step-father dropped a 7 year old girl off at her biological father’s home.

The biological father allegedly came outside and fired a gun at the step-father’s vehicle as he drove away.

The biological father then went back inside with the 7 year old, and refused to come out.

Police used a megaphone to try to talk the man out of the home.

Officers also had family members call the barricaded man, in hopes they could talk him out of the house.

The 7 year old’s mother was called to the scene. She was able to convince the child to come out of the house.

The suspect eventually surrendered himself to police and he was taken to jail.

Charges are pending. No injuries have been reported.
