Gas Leak Repaired In Colorado Springs
A natural gas leak that developed in an industrial area late Friday morning has been repaired, Colorado Springs Utilities said.
The fire department said a utility crew was digging to repair another gas line and accidentally hit an unmarked 2-inch gas line. It happened on the north end of Forge Road, near Garden of the Gods Road.
The broken line was located, shut off and repaired by 3 p.m. At times, the smell of gas was noticeable in the area, but wind gusts dissipated most of the fumes.
The repair work disrupted traffic in the area, mostly deliveries. Two nearby businesses were temporarily evacuated, including Garden of the Gods Industrial Center.
