Police Search For Sex Assault Suspect

Colorado Springs Police is hoping that someone in the community can help identify a sexual assault suspect.

On April 26, 2012 at 2:21 pm, while in the Tuesday Morning shopping center parking lot located at 1829 S. Nevada Avenue, a woman was sexually assaulted as she was placing items in her car.

Three days later, on April 29, 2012 at 5:55 pm, while walking in the Sears parking lot of the Southgate Shopping Center, located at 2050 Southgate Road, a woman was sexually assaulted by a suspect who then ran away.

Descriptions provided by each victim led investigators to believe that the same suspect was responsible for both assaults.

A sketch of the suspect is shown in this article. Police ask anyone with information about this case to please call 719-444-7000 or you may call Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers. You do not have to give your name and you may be eligible for a cash reward.

Police advise people to be alert to suspicious people or activity and to be cognizant of their surroundings. Shoppers should have their keys in their hands as they’re approaching their vehicles so they don’t have to search for them in their purses.
