Car Crashes Into House, Resident Shoots Driver

An on-post traffic accident and sent three people to the hospital on Wednesday.

Fort Carson officials tell us that around 10:30 p.m., a driver lost control of his vehicle and ran into an on-post family home.

After the crash, one of the home occupants got into a fight with the driver of the vehicle. The resident retrieved a personally-owned weapon and shot the driver twice and himself once. It is unclear if the self-inflicted gunshot wound was accidental. The injuries are all non-life-threatening.

The impact of the crash injured another one of the home’s occupants.

All three people are at Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The incident is currently under investigation by the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division.
