Colorado Springs Firefighters said a 3-alarm apartment fire that was displaced more than 30 people was ruled an accident.
Wednesday, authorities released 911 tapes of the fire. Operators answered multiple calls of people witnessing the smoke from afar, neighbors witnessing the fire, and even victims of the blaze as they watched their belongings burn.
The fire sparked Saturday night at the Timbers Apartments near Airport and Circle.
Fire investigators said the fire sparked after one neighbor left the stove unattended while cooking.
Firefighters said a total of 20 units were damaged. Sixteen families, more than 30 people, were displaced according to a tweet from the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
