Armored Truck Rolls Over In Springs

An armored truck has rolled over at the intersection of Marksheffel Rd and Space Village Ave.

State Troopers say a blue Jeep was waiting at the intersection and did not see the approaching armored vehicle. It moved forward into the intersection, striking the armored vehicle.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. The Loomis armored truck driver was taken as a precaution and the driver of the Jeep was taken because of a previous heart condition. Two other people were in the Loomis truck and were not taken to the hospital.

Both directions of Marksheffel and Space Village were closed for several hours at the intersection. As of 3:00 p.m., all roads have reopened.

Fuel leaking from the Loomis truck was controlled quickly.
