Car Runs Into Springs Pot Shop

Colorado Springs police say a car ran into the Happy Buddha Wellness Center marijuana dispensary on Galley Rd. near Academy Blvd.

Initial reports are that no one is hurt, and the driver ran off.

Officers say the car was stolen, and the incident might have been an attempted robbery.

Other businesses in the area said they were not surprised when they arrived at work Tuesday morning. “The building was boarded up which was nothing new because it’s been broken into like three times”, said Jamie Terrell, who works at a neighboring business.

The same thing happened to the store in November, when a Hummer was driven through the front. Nothing was stolen in that case.

The store was also robbed in March. Thieves got away with a few items, but no marijuana.

Mark Wolfe, owner of Outlaw Security, said he thinks it has little to do with it being a marijuana dispensary. “I don’t think it’s the industry, I think it’s economics. They try to get something quick and that’s the way they feel they can get it.”

Police said no items were missing following the break-in.
