Ft. Carson Soldiers Return From Afghanistan

Families and friends welcomed home 200 Ft. Carson soldiers after a year-long deployment in Afghanistan.

The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in May and June of 2011.

The soldiers spent their time working with local police, government officials and the Afghan National Army.

Their mission was to help defeat the insurgency and improve life for the Afghan people.

Another 300 soldiers are expected home on Monday.
