Fire Crews Respond To Springs Garage Fire

Colorado Springs Fire Department is responding to a structure fire in the 500 block of E. Bijou St.

Crews say that a garage is fully engulfed in flames. Viewers in the area tell us they saw heavy black smoke coming from the area.

Firefighters have knocked down the fire. Investigators are on scene to search the structure once it is safe to enter.

Both directions of Bijou and El Paso are closed while firefighters battle the fire.

Investigators say it’s too early to determine whether the cause of the fire is suspicious. They say they do not know if anyone was inside the garage when it burned down.
