Alamosa Suspect Killed In Officer Involved Shooting
Alamosa police officers shoot and kill a domestic violence suspect, officials said.
Officers went to the man’s home in the 900 block of Cottonwood Drive in Alamosa to investigate a domestic violence report, according to police.
Police said the victim showed up at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with cuts to her hands.
The man police were investigating barricaded himself inside the home, officials said. Investigators said they tried to negotiate with the man, but he eventually came out of the home threatening officers with a weapon.
Officers shot the suspect killing him, according to police.
No officers were hurt.
Police said the domestic violence victim underwent surgery and her condition is not known.
The officers involved have been put on routine administrative leave and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has been called in to review the shooting.
Officials are not yet releasing the names of anyone involved.
