Judy Weaver Resigns From Pueblo City Council

Pueblo City Council Member Judy Weaver has stepped down from her Council District 1 post effective immediately due to health reasons.

Weaver has served on the Council since January 2006. The City says she has provided a strong voice for the citizens in her district and a positive vision for the entire community.

City Manager Jerry Pacheco states, “Judy is a very intelligent, hard working individual who has given selflessly of herself while serving on the Council. Judy’s desire to have all the data in order to thoughtfully consider each vote has been an asset to this organization. In my eight years with the City, four of which as city manager, she has been very supportive of me and my work, and it has truly been a pleasure to work with her. Judy needs to do what’s best for her, and we need to thank her for serving this community in such an exemplary fashion. She will be greatly missed.”

Council President Chris Kaufman states, “Judy’s intellect and preparation are unmatched, and we are going to miss her immensely. Among other things, she understood the City’s budget better than most, and she will be difficult to replace. The Council wishes her well. She will be sorely missed.”

The vacant position will be filled by Council appointment of an eligible person. The appointment must be a person eligible to hold the office from District 1.
