SWAT Standoff Over At Security Home

A SWAT standoff ended on Monday after deputies discovered their suspect was not in the home.

Around noon, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Manzana Dr. near Hancock Expy and Bradley Rd on reports of a domestic dispute. A woman had already left the Security home; but her husband refused to come out. Deputies were informed that the man may have a handgun, which resulted in a SWAT standoff.

Two hours later, the suspect’s sister reported to deputies that she received a phone call from the suspect. He allegedly told her that he was at another home in Fountain. Deputies responded to that home and took the 30-year-old man into custody for questioning.

Colorado Springs Police bomb squad units also assisted EPC deputies. A neighboring home was evacuated during the standoff. A boy who lives at that home has asthma; and the evacuation was done as a precaution.

We have a crew at the scene. Stay tuned to KRDO.com and NewsChannel 13 for updates.
