Standoff Over In Pueblo Neighborhood

Four people have been booked into the Pueblo County Jail on charges of first degree burglary.

It all started round 2:30 a.m. when the suspects allegedly broke into a home in the 1000 block of E. Abriendo Ave. Two people were assaulted during the burglary.

The suspects then fled in a black Ford truck that was eventually located at the home in the 2500 block of 29th Street.

According to police, the victims knew the suspects. They called the Pueblo police department, gave them the suspect?s names, and told them what vehicles to look out for.

?We were looking for the black truck and the silver car that are at the house,? said Sgt. Joe Garcia with the Pueblo police department.

Police tried to get a hold of the people inside.

?We walked up on the house (and) the people in there, slammed the door and refused to come out.?

That’s when the SWAT team surrounded the home and a standoff ensued.

Eventually, nine adults exited the home voluntarily, including the four individuals wanted in the burglary.

Larry Hacker, a neighbor who watched it all unfold, said he was surprised to see a young girl in the group.

?I believe it was one of the officers that carried her across the street,? said Hacker.

A tenth person was found in the home hiding inside a freezer. He has been released, as police say he was not involved in the burglary.

Jeffrey Trujillo, 19, Charles Chavez, 19, Adrian Chavez, 20 and Yvonne Chavez, 43, have all been booked into the Pueblo County Jail on charges of first degree burglary.
