More Men Getting Plastic Surgery

In the past, cosmetic surgery has been linked to women.

But the trend is now changing with more and more men going in for corrective surgeries.

In 2011, there were 9% surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures in the US conducted on men.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery this number has surged 121% since 1997. Although there just has been a marginal increase in the overall cosmetic surgeries being conducted in US, the number of males getting liposuction procedures and eyelid surgeries has been on a constant rise.

There were nearly 41,000 lipoplasty procedures conducted on men in 2011 which is a jump of 14% whereas the eyelid surgeries performed on men saw an increase of 6% with 23,000 procedures in being done 2011.

Also with men, there is a huge surge in the surgical procedures like rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, male breast reduction and face-lifts.

Cosmetic surgery, which was once termed as a taboo for men, is slowly diminishing with more and more men now chasing after vanity.
