Panhandling Ban Under Consideration

Colorado Springs officials are looking to make panhandling-free zones.

The Downtown Solutions Team, a citizen group formed by Mayor Steve Bach to revitalize downtown wants lawmakers to forcefully eliminate begging because merchants say beggars keep customers from the area.

Colorado Springs Police say that in other cities no-begging zones stand up to legal challenges better than citywide bans.
