Gun Shots Startle People Out Of Their Beds

A Colorado Springs neighborhood was startled out of their beds Sunday morning by several gun shots.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the 700 block of Winnepeg Drive. The shooter was aiming at car windows.

“I heard four or five really loud bangs… it was so loud almost banging against my wall,” described Karissa Crump.

While Crump said she looked outside, the weather made it nearly impossible to see the damage until sunrise.

“It was really foggy, cold and rainy,” emphasized Karissa Crump.

Crump said four vehicles sitting on Winnepeg Drive were hit including her brother’s van.

“They (bullet holes) are all pretty much in the same spot,” she described.

Tina Marie said her car was the only one to have the windshield and passenger side window broken.

“This is really devastating… I’m angry, I’m really angry… I hope they get caught,” Tina said.

Everyone involved has contacted their insurance companies to help pay for the damage.

They said police believe the shooter also hit vehicles off Chelton Road and one car near the School for the Deaf and Blind.

If you have any information, call Colorado Springs police.
