Trespassing Teacher In Manitou Springs?

Teacher led trespassing? That is what a landowner said happened in Manitou Springs, and that the Manitou Springs School District is keeping it from parents.

The almost 30 acres of property look like great hiking land, but it?s not?it?s private property.

Wendy Beisel said she found a woman sitting and chatting on her phone, and 10 to 15 boys running around on her land. Beisel said she asked the group to leave.

The woman identified herself as a Manitou School District teacher, but didn?t give up her name.

?I watched her hold open the barbed wire as she let the boys pass under it to leave,? said Beisel.

The landowner notified the district and received a letter in response that did not apologize or even recognize that the incident occurred. The letter from the district only stated that teachers were told not to trespass.

I feel as if the parents have not been notified, and what those boys are being taught, to me, is really shameful.

Beisel said she has been in contact with the sheriff’s office, and wants the teacher to be cited for trespassing.

Investigators have told Beisel the teacher said it was an accident, but the landowner doesn’t believe it could be because of all the fencing and signs on their property.

?No, when you are holding open barbed wire, and letting children pass through that is deliberate and intentional,? said Beisel.

KRDO NewsChannel13 contacted the Manitou Springs School District for their side of the story, but did not get a call back.
