Man Arrested For Strangling Woman

Colorado Springs Police have arrested a man who tried to strangle a woman, allegedly to death.

Officers responded to a home in the 2400 block of E Willamette Dr around 10:30 p.m. Monday night to investigate a reported domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman who was having difficulty breathing. She appeared to lose consciousness and was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officers detained the suspect, Scott Davis, inside the home. Police say that a physical disturbance occurred between the victim and the suspect. During the altercation, the victim was strangled until she was unconscious. Four children were in the home at the time of the disturbance. Davis was then taken into custody.

Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit were notified and responded to continue the investigation. The suspect was booked into CJC on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Second Degree Assault, Menacing and Child Abuse. The investigation is continuing.
