Springs Police Rule Deaths Murder-Suicide

Colorado Springs Police confirm that the death of a couple was a murder-suicide.

The couple was found dead in their home on Highland Street.

64-year-old Bonnie Lynn Bryan, died of a gunshot wound and her death was ruled a homicide. 69-year-old James David Bryan Sr. also died of a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a suicide.

A neighbor said she was shocked to find out this happened.

“When I went to work this morning, I was wondering why the truck was here and they weren’t moving. But I just went on with my day,” said Elizabeth Albritton. She had no idea what would happen in her neighborhood, while she was away at work.

Albritton says the couple lived down the street from her for 3 years.

“It makes me sad that someone is right across the street from me that is in that kind of mental shape. If you hear something like this happening in your neighborhood, you need to take an inventory of how safe you feel,” said Albritton.
