No Water Restrictions Foreseen

Colorado Springs Utilities said they do not plan to issue any mandatory water restrictions during the spring and summer months.

?Last year was such an extremely wet year and so we were able to store more than normal and we?ve just been a little bit more conservative with our approach to storage since the 2002 drought so we?re in good shape,? said Abby Ortega, water interest administration supervisor.

The Pueblo Board of Water Works said they do not anticipate any watering restrictions, either.

Ortega said water storage is at about 70 percent of average, adding that this is significantly more than was in storage in 2002 when a stubborn drought devastated the state.

?We always ask our customers to use their water wisely,? said Ortega. According to Ortega, there are several water-saving techniques that customers can utilize to help save water.

The Pueblo Board of Water Works has also made available a list of tips to saving water, and that can be found here, http://www.pueblowater.org/index.php/your-water/wise-water-use.html .
