Chihuahua Police Visit Pueblo

Pueblo law enforcement is exchanging ideas with police officers from Mexico.

Eight officers from Chihuahua will be staying in Pueblo this week. Its part of Pueblo?s Sister Cities Program. They?ve partnered with Chihuahua law enforcement for 18 years.

Mexico has made headlines the last few years because of violence involving drug cartels. Over the last several months, Pueblo Police have made several drug bust. Police hope this can be another issue discussed.

?They deal with it in a bigger scale than we do. Its definitely something, when two agencies can talk to each other and exchange information and learn from each other. That’s always good,? said Sgt. Frank Ortega.

They will also go over SWAT demonstrations and different policing techniques.
