No Fire Restrictions In Pueblo County
In Pueblo County, they?re taking a close look at their fire restrictions.
Right now, there are no fire restrictions in Pueblo County. The sheriff?s office is tracking the conditions and will put restrictions in place if they need to.
Those who need to burn can, if they have the proper permit.
Pueblo County Bureau Fire Chief Mark Mears said farmers need to burn right now.
Several factors are looked at, the most important being weather. They also look at whether or not they have enough resources to hand a fire that spreads.
Mears said during this time of the year its crucial farmers burn.
?Right now, this time of year we have a lot of controlled burns where farmers are burning old crops from last year getting ready for this year’s crop,? said Mears.
He said the farmers who burn are very experienced, a lot of times they set up fire lines and have plenty of water nearby.
