UPDATE: Police Find Stolen Rent-A-Center Truck
Colorado Springs Police found a stolen Rent A Center truck on Wednesday, but the thief is still on the run.
Just before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, a man stole the truck outside the store in the 3800 block of E. Pikes Peak Ave. An employee was in the bed of the truck at the time.
The employee was able to jump out of the truck and was not hurt. But the thief got away with not only the truck, but also a TV, washing machine and couch. Police said they got several 911 calls Tuesday night about the truck driving recklessly, running red lights and crashing into two other cars.
On Wednesday morning, someone reported seeing the stolen truck in a field behind some townhomes near the 4100 block of Park Village Grove.
Police are still searching for the suspect. He’s described as a white or Asian man, 18-22 years old, and was wearing a blue LA Dodgers baseball cap and blue shirt.
