Designated Driver Back In Time For St. Patty’s Day

Designated Driver of Colorado Springs is back up and running after being forced to close due to financial reasons.

The volunteers drive people home in their own vehicle for free.

The non-profit stopped providing rides in December. But after a four-month hiatus and numerous donations and community sponsors, they are back-to-business.

“It’s absolutely an amazing feeling,” said Executive Director Nonie Rispin.

Right now, they provide pick-ups at ten Colorado Springs locations: The Mansion, Blondies, Gasoline Alley, Cowboys, Phantom Canyon, Bristal Brewing Co., C’mon Inn, Trinity Brewing Co., Tony’s Downtown and Dublin House.

They operate Thursday through Saturday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. and ask for tips.

To call for a ride: 719-650-3450
