Temp Town Hall Opens

A tiny temporary Town Hall has opened in Green Mountain Falls. It’s at the Rocky Mountain Christian Center at 10605 Green Mountain Falls Road.

This one room facility fills in for the community’s previous town hall that was hit by arsonists in late February. Town Hall Volunteer Priscilla Von Qualen tells me, “I know it’s a different feeling here and we’ll be here as long as it takes.”

Mayor Tyler Stevens tells me that the focus has been to get a temporary town hall running. Town leaders will now assess what official documents went up in smoke. Luckily, a lot of them were in a fire-safe file cabinet. Other files might be recovered from El Paso County official records. Mayor Stevens says at this point there are no firm plans about a permanent home for the Green Mountain Falls town hall.
