Suspect In 2 Slayings Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy

A man charged in a double murder in Douglas County has pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder after deliberation.

Our sister station, KMGH-TV in Denver, reports Micah Woody entered his plea Friday in exchange for a 48-year prison sentence, with 376 days credited for time served.

Woody was among four people charged after Amara Wells and her brother-in-law Robert Rafferty were killed last year. Prosecutors allege Wells’ estranged husband, Christopher Wells, had offered $15,000 to kill the two and that his former co-workers – Woody, Matthew Plake and Josiah Sher – carried out the plot.

Investigators have said Rafferty’s wife, who is Christopher Wells’ sister, also was targeted but wasn’t home.
