Police Investigate Dispensary Burglaries

Colorado Springs police are investigating several medical marijuana dispensary burglaries.

Officers tell us the burglaries started around midnight.

Police say all the burglaries involved businesses that were closed for the evening.

Three of the businesses are on the southeast side of the Springs.

Happy Buddha Wellness Center, 3612 Galley Road; We Grow Colorado, 2502 E. Bijou St.; and Rocky Mountain Miracles, 2316 E. Bijou St.

Some dispensary owners tell KRDO NEWSCHANNEL 13 that they have taken steps to stop break-ins. Using cameras, and bars over the windows to keep burglars out.

“We have taken great precautions to make sure none of this medicine reaches the street with any type of unauthorized person,” said Drew Milburn owner of We Grow Colorado.

Happy Buddha Wellness Center tells KRDO NEWSCHANNEL 13 that they had pipes and scales stolen but not medicine or money.

Another dispensary was burglarized on the west side.

Police say Total Health Care at 1635 W. Uintah was broken into around 2:30 Monday morning.

Officers tell us two crooks in disguise forced their way in.

Then, after ransacking the store got away with an empty cash drawer.

Officers tell us there are no identified suspects in each case and it is unknown if these burglaries are all related.
