Brazilian Allegedly Flew To Colo. For Underage Sex
A Brazilian man is accused of traveling to Colorado to engage in sex acts with minors.
Paulo dos Santos Silva was arrested at the Grand Junction airport on Saturday and appeared in court there on Thursday.
An undercover federal agent who posed online as the mother of 4-year-old and 14-year-old girls was waiting for him when he arrived in Colorado.
According to an affidavit, the agent had been talking with the Rio de Janeiro man online since December. He allegedly expressed his intent to engage in sex acts with the mother and both girls during the conversations.
Silva waived his right to a preliminary and detention hearing and is being held without bond in the Mesa County jail.
A message seeking comment has been left for Silva’s attorney.
