Woman Drives Wrong Way Down I-25
Police stopped a woman who was driving the wrong way on I-25 and luckily no one was hurt.
Police say they received several calls around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday reporting a green Saturn sedan driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-25. Officers arrived within several minutes and saw the vehicle going the wrong way near S. Circle Drive.
Police say the woman was driving abut 25-35 MPH on the right side of the road and, at times, she swerved into on-coming traffic.
Officers had to also drive into on-coming traffic in order to stop the woman.
Police determined that the woman become disoriented and mistakenly entered I-25 by entering the off-ramp. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
The woman was taken to the hospital for a medical examination and no charges were filed. No traffic accidents occurred as a result of the driver’s actions.
