Police Assist 70-Year-Old Woman After Robbery

Colorado Springs police officers go above and beyond after a 70-year-old woman gets her purse stolen.

It happened a little before midnight on Blissful Circle, near Austin Bluffs and N. Carefree.

Police say the woman came home after shopping, when two women between the ages of 20 and 30 offered to help unload her groceries.

They were carrying bags into the house when one of the younger women grabbed the victims purse, and they both ran away.

The suspects were described as white or hispanic females.

Officers spent extra time with the victim helping her to cancel credit cards, disable the garage door and even changed the locks to the house.

These precautions were made because the victim’s garage door opener and house keys were in her purse when it was stolen.

The services of the Colorado Springs Senior Victims Advocate Team were offered but the victim declined.

Officers went above and beyond normal procedures to ensure this victim felt safe upon them leaving.
