High Winds Cause Havoc In Colorado Springs
High winds caused damage across wide swaths of the Pikes Peak region Wednesday night.
Crews from Colorado Springs Utilities are out on multiple calls, most tied to downed power poles and sparking transformers.
At one location near the Corpus Christi School, the downed power lines ignited a small grass fire.
Falling trees also caused a good deal of damage. The photo shown here is from a house at the corner of Dale and Royer.
According to another report, a 60-foot tree had fallen across West Cheyenne Road, blocking traffic in both directions and pinning an unoccupied car underneath.
