Canon City Man Seriously Injured In Assault

Canon City Police are looking for the person responsible for injuring a man outside a downtown bar.

Police were called to a downtown bar shortly before 1:30 Thursday morning where they found an man who was unconscious and bleeding from the head, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital in Canon City and later transferred to a hospital in Colorado Springs with serious injuries, according to police.

Police would not identify the bar, nor the exact address, only saying that it happened in the area of 4th and Main Streets.

Police say a suspect or suspects were seen running away from the man to the west on Main Street, said police.

Canon City Police would like anyone who may have information on this crime, or who may have been in the area at the time to call them at 276-5600 or call Crime Stoppers at 275-STOP (7867).
