E.Coli In Drinking Water In San Luis

Colorado’s oldest town is under a mandatory drinking water boil order tonight because of bacteria in the water system.

The Centennial Schools D-1 is canceling school tomorrow because of the problem.

The School District website notifies parents by stating, “Due the recent E.coli outbreak, school has been canceled for Thursday, February 23rd and will remain canceled until further notice. All residents who use city water are strongly advised to refrain from drinking water unless it has been adequately boiled for several minutes.”

Neither the Costilla County Public Health Deaprtment, nor the Colorado State Health Department lists the boil order on their websites.
