Search For Man In String Of Pharmacy Robberies

Colorado Springs police are searching for a man who robbed several Walgreens Pharmacies and fled with prescription drugs.

The latest robbery happened at about 10 a.m. Sunday morning at the Walgreens on South Chelton, just west of Jet Wing Drive.

Police said a man handed the clerk a note demanding prescription drugs. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of drugs and he fled out the front door.

The man said he had a gun, but the clerk did not see one, officials said.

Investigators said they believe the robber is responsible for four other robberies: two at night and two in the morning.

Officials said the man usually tries not to draw attention to himself. He wears a hooded sweatshirt and keeps the hood up over his face to avoid being seen, investigators said.

The suspect is described as about 5-feet 7-inches tall, with a thin build.

If you have any information, police would like you to call them at 719-444-7000.
